Edwards Desiccated Soup Tin

Edwards desiccated soup was introduced by this Belfast company in the mid 1880’s in a bid to increase vegetable consumption and prevent scurvy. With the lack of refrigeration in most homes, tinned and dried preparations like this were a must. This lovely tin opens and closes well and still has all the original typography. Rusty and beautiful on a kitchen shelf or full of buttons, badges, pins and needles! Measures 5.25ins x 2ins x 5.25ins.
