Glazed Stoneware Pot with Lip

This tall, brown, stoneware jar has the tiniest lip ready for pouring.  I wonder what it was originally?  Water jar, or beer pot? Whatever it was, it is in excellent condition and ideal for holding utensils, paintbrushes, flowers, dried grasses or beer! Measures 7.5ins tall.
