Quite a rare piece and it could have many uses. Possibly originally a candle box or, as was sold to me, made by an engineer for his apprentice to keep his tools in. You choose! It is a good size and sturdy enough to house whatever you prefer. 13ins long x 4ins diameter with a clasp that seals the tin well.
